What are the uses of logic gates?
Aside from being a fundamental building block of digital circuits, they have many applications in everyday life. In the most simplistic terms, logic gates are used to control the flow of electricity within a circuit. For example, an AND gate can be used to control whether electricity flows from a power source to a motor, and an OR gate can be used to control a home's heating system. This comes in handy in situations where you would like to avoid the hassle of constantly switching off the power or adjusting two different controls (like two thermostats) However, today's digital technology is much more advanced than that. The principle behind logic gates has found its way into virtually every electronic device we use today including cell phones, computers, and TVs.
